Strolling Along the Youghiogheny and Monogahela Rivers and nearby communities.
Dravo Cemetery

A short distance up the Yough from McKeesport is the little community of Boston. From here you can gain access to the popular Youghiogheny River Bike Trail. About five miles upstream along this scenic trail is the old Dravo Cemetery. At the Cemetery is a pavilion which makes it a favorite stopping point for bikers to take a break from their trek. While there, many of them enjoy browsing through the grounds and reading the old inscriptions. Now you can stop to picnic at a picnic bench in the recently built pavilion on the site.

Perhaps those of you who can't make this journey might recognize some of these surnames as follows:

The aforementioned names are either taken directly from the tombstones or from records in the Elizabeth Township Historical Society.

Unfortunately the Dravo Church burned many years ago. It is said a spark from a train engine was the cause of the fire.
